Gorilla Trekking

As the mist clears and the forest awakens, the incredible experience of gorilla trekking begins. While Bwindi’s gorillas are completely wild, years of habituation have made them used to human presence, meaning you will have the rare opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close. Expert guides will lead the way and explain the complicated etiquette involved in meeting a giant silverback. Only eight visitors are allowed to view each gorilla group per day and racking through dense forest with steep slopes means that participants need to be physically fit to enjoy the experience. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend a maximum of one hour with them before returning to camp. Please note, only children aged 15 and above can track gorillas. Be sure to purchase your tracking permit in advance in person in Bwindi, or allow us to make the purchase on your behalf.
