Serengeti National Park
Thanks to its spectacular landscapes and enormous range of fauna, the Serengeti is widely considered the most magnificent wildlife park in all of Africa. At almost 15,000 square kilometres of grassland plains, savannah, forest and woodlands the Serengeti is not only the largest park in Tanzania, but also the oldest. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is bustling with elephant, buffalo, impala, warthog and reedbuck.
These are joined every year by a staggering 1.5 million wildebeest, 300,000 Thomson's and Grant’s gazelle, and 250,000 zebra in the annual Great Migration. Of course, with this much fresh prey arriving, you won’t be the only interested party – the all-star cast is now joined by lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and even the elusive African wild dog, all looking for a lucrative part in this high-stakes action-thriller.
