Guests staying at Sanctuary Retreats' camps ended the year and festive season in style - making their stay with us truly memorable.
Zambia: Sussi & Chuma
Guests celebrated Christmas in a true Southern African way, with a special Christmas BBQ dinner. Instead of a cozy fireplace with snow outside, they light up a raging BBQ fire and enjoyed the weather this part of the world has to offer during the festive season. Live cooking grills, traditional menu items, and of course no Christmas is complete without a trifle.
On New Year’s Eve, our guests will be enjoying towers of champagne, a chocolate fountain dipping machine with various fruits and sweets to dip into, a special 5-course menu with canapes and cocktails selected by our chefs and bartenders for the best experience possible
Botswana: Chief’s Camp
Enjoying a traditional BBQ Boma dinner and feasting on traditional menu items, and vast options on the live cooking grills, guests will revel amongst festive décor and a beautiful choir. The perfect way to spend Christmas day at Chief’s Camp.
On the 31st the flames of a traditional BBQ boma dinner will light up the sky – there is no better way to experience the new year in the Delta. Guests will choose from traditional menu items, and several options from the live cooking grill before taking it to the dancefloor moving to the rhythm of the choir!
Botswana: Chobe Chilwero
With a Christmas Buffet feast including turkey, gammon, salads, barbeque chicken, fish and beautiful seasonal vegetables, not to mention the sumptuous dessert selection of Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, and fruit mince pie, guests are guaranteed to experience a Christmas meal they will not forget.
There is no better way to welcome the new year than with a traditional BBQ Boma dinner, traditional menu items, and a variety of food options to enjoy on the grill, all while overlooking the Delta. The choir and Marimba band are sure to get you up on your feet and dancing.
Botswana: Stanley’s Camp
On Christmas day, guests enjoyed a sumptuous buffet with all their favourite traditional Christmas food. From turkey rolls served with Cranberry Sauce, Pistachio, and Mint to a roasted leg of lamb and Christmas gammon with grilled coconut pineapple, and gravy
New Year’s Eve will see guests feast on a traditional BBQ Boma dinner.
Namibia: Elephant Lodge and River Camp
On New Year’s Eve, guests will enjoy canapes and wine, a beautiful set menu dinner, a cultural dance, and then sparkling wine to end 2022 in style. The team will be in their full traditional regalia.
Kenya: Olonana
Sheer indulgence! A plated special menu, a live cooking station and whole roasted turkey carvery all served with a variety of vegetables and starches, beautiful Christmas desserts including a Yule log and Black Forest Gateau. Safe to say that guests were well looked after by our team and chefs at Sanctuary Olonana
Kenya: Tambarare
On Christmas Eve, guests go to enjoy a plated set menu with all their Christmas dinner favorites in a lovely setting.
Uganda: GFC
The lively flames of a traditional BBQ dinner are the perfect way to end the year in style at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp.
